ONE STEP AT A TIME
“ ONE STEP AT A TIME “
Adventure trips like mountain
climbing have always been favourite among travellers. Be it a small
hike of a few hours or an exhausting day long trek it is always a feather
on the cap .
Since childhood i have been exposed to hikes
which are considered basic or preliminary for hikers . Local mountain
climbing in and around Konkan, Mahabaleshwar ,and Sinhagad in the outskirts of Pune are among my all time favourite climbs .
Luckily this winter I had an opportunity
to climb the huge Girnar mountain, in Junagad a small town of Gujarat
.It is a place of religious significance . It is said to have housed the
great lord Datta guru for some time adding purity to the place . 95% of the
visitors here are the devoted followers of lord Datta. Rest 5% are may be like
me , who believe more in the fact that lord Dattu guru houses in each of
us first than on any specific mountain top .
Honestly speaking firstly this
10,000 stepped tough to finish hike fascinated me more over for its steep
stepped three mountains finally leading to the top most and final destination of the Datta tok, and
secondly its closeness to nature . Right from
the first ray of the rising sun to the last ray of the evening ,mixing into
the darkness of the sky you see all shades of orange, red ,pink and blue at its
full grace .You will actually witness
the setting sun and the rising moon at the same time. Also
these mountains lie in the vicinity of a dense forest adding extra beauty
to it .The cool breeze hitting your sweaty face gives a sense of relief and at
the sane time a constant support . Its like an invisible friend patting your back.
The trek began with feelings of
excitement ,thrill and obviously little bit of a fear , but as it
progressed a sense of determination and a clear focus to reach the final point
added to it . It is very natural as you go closer to the target the
journey appears to be simpler.
I realised what keeps you going is
the unexplainable
inner push . Yes your
body gets exhausted. It is not used to the accumulation of toxins , oxygen
deficits , and the constant tachycardia. It responds with ache and
pain, which has a rising graft as the climbing progresses . There are things holding you
back like the fiery red sun overhead , unexpected rains ,bodily
discomforts or any stupid thing if your luck is down hilled.
But I always
feel the inner something keeps you going inspite of the bodily discomfort .
The positivity ,the focus and the sense of accomplishment is maintained .You always have a choice of stopping or
turning back , but some how thats not an option for you anymore . You
get the feeling that your body is
controlled by an Inner energy, this ' inner something' ,which I really
don't know is exactly where ? In the brain ,the heart or somewhere else, i
just cant locate it .
I think i can
simply explain it this way that this 'inner something'
is probably the Datta guru inside you who Is pulling you to the idol of the Dutta guru in the
temple gracing the mountain top with pride and dignity.
. Expressing your feelings in words is a difficult task for people like me.. You did it so well and yesss it's him it's that power which attracts our inner power towards him...
